Artist Statement:

During lock down I had a lot of time to reflect on myself, I wasn’t happy with what my life became. Constant steady pace of going to work, not accomplishing anything and didn’t help that fear and anxiety was increasing day by day to the point where all I could do was sit on the couch and scroll on my phone. Then after many many conversations with multiple people, people outside of work and work colleges, I finally decided I will take a step of courage and study for six months. Which is one of the best decisions of my life.

With that decision, here are my artworks on display, multiple artworks that have been done in different types of mediums to give an atmosphere of story. The reason I did this display is to show that D&D (Dungeon and Dragons) even though in the past discouraged as it was a symbol of “demonic/devil practices”, it isn’t that, but a world where people escape in a safe area. See, where I was during lock-down I didn’t feel like I was in control but with D&D, it was a safe escape for me to make a character and flesh/play her out. Same with the other players I play with.

If I had to give any advice to people that are in the same situation I was in is that, “There is a risk to do anything, a risk to do something and a risk to do nothing”, a quote from a stranger I received from one of groups I’m in on Facebook.

I’ve applied to study for the next three years in the Bachelor of Screen Arts.
