Printmaking - Types of Prints (Technically Day 1)

Greetings

There are 3 types of Printings:

Relief - (you engrave the white)
- Woodcut
- Lino print

Intaglio - (you engrave the black)
- Dry Point

Lithography - (not engrave)
- Limestone that is treated, graphite pencil to draw on top (it is a multiple print type)

Screen Print
-  Screen print is multiple print that can add layers and colour. Very common on t-shirt print.

Ruby (our tutor) request us to try out printing, and written this on the whiteboard.

So first part is how to take of the stamps and how to use them. Also the bottom left is what we should experiment with.

Printing trail: Printing technique is Relief

I really like to the contrast from the black prints and the coloured prints.

Repeated print without re-inking:
This technique gives a drop shadow in the background, I also like the detail in the stamp.

This is print, I did use the felts and drawn on the plastic block and then printed onto the paper.

I really like this as it gives a water/fluid look.

Repeated print

I do like the repeat but I don't think it'll be useful for me for my paper. I also do admit that I didn't re-ink stamp.
