Professional Practices - Health and Safety Examples

 Greeting Humans

Today is Wednesday the 30th of 2020

We are learning how to be safe humans when it comes to do an event, the examples that we did in class was relating to filming but we will be using these techniques to do the exhibition at the end of the year.

So we were giving a situation to pick from, and have to do a risk sheet to prevent possible injuries during the recording, I picked:

"You are filming at the Beach; an actor is playing a dead body for 6 hours during shooting. They are lying in a rock pool."

I picked this situation as I have been brought up at the beach (Omaui) and I know some risks at the beach. Here is my filled out Risk Register form, with the Risk Matrix chart below to help fill out this form.

After filling out the Risk Register form we would start recording and follow the precautions to prevent the possible injuries.

But lets say even though we followed everything and did everything we could do to prevent something happening, for example the actor/actress did get hypothermia, what would we do? We would have to fill out an Injury or Illness Investigation form.

So the example is if this happens:

"You are shooting for 1 hour past  the wrap of the actor/actress, it is brought to your attention they are currently in a car at location with hypothermia"

Here is the form that I filled out if this did happen.

Digital/Painting - CHANGING MY MIND AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Greeting Humans

Its is Monday the 29th of September

Yes....

I've changed my mind....

Again....

But hey, I wouldn't be behind because I've already done some of the work in my own time cause of other papers. So yeah... Ugh... I feel unreliable cause of my unsettling decision making. Now (rolling up my sleeves), some blogging.

So my final decision is that I'll be doing my D&D digital. Yes that was my original decision but I changed it cause the fact I didn't like my art style which is still true but, as I've been drawing them from my professional practice and film paper for the end of year exhibition, I would like to improve it, and I think Chris (our tutor) would be able to help me and improve me art style.

So here is my work right now from my other papers and will be improving during this time in class.

The background I did in Animation from my Animation, before:

After in Digital class:

After adding an extra mountain and changing the shading of the front mountain as the moon is the main source of light so the mountain would be more darker.

Monday the 28th of September 2020

I tried animating my own fire first before I research how to.

I ask Ruby how to improve it, she suggested watching this video to do the campfire, How to animate fire by Stylus Rumble.

Printmaking - Screen print

 Greeting Humans

Thursday the 24th of September 2020

Original idea of screen printing was this, but then after conversating with Ruby (our tutor) it'll probably not be that easy so I might wait and use this for the wood print.

So I rethink about the screen print and look at the photos I taken, as we suppose to get inspiration form the photos. While looking noticed that there is a lot of silhouettes so why not do the characters as silhouettes for the screen printing and come up with these, they kind of look like a band album.
While bouncing ideas off one another someone did state that it would be probably more easier if it was just the busy silhouette so I continued with that.
In the end I pick the Chicken boys as a good start of Screen printing as it is less characters to cut out and be a lot simpler to work with. After cutting them out I actually thought why not design the possibility of single character screen prints as I would like to print them on t-shirts/singlets and give them to my players.

I actually had a chat with my cat player and say what would be her quote and she decided a different quote "It's Time to go Stealth".

Also the Problem solving character, recommending a better way he thinks his character would on the t-shirt, his quote "I'd have a ball of fire floating above a upturned hand, 'Problem Solving 101'" So I'll be redesigning his design later.

I don't have a design with the sixth player but will be creating it soon and with that will do one for them.

Professional/Film - Character Display

 Greeting Humans

Wednesday the 23rd the September 2020

So yesterday while in digital after completing my task I started drawing my D&D character, Lerissa as I have an idea to make have the characters of the game drawn up and have the journals of the film paper shown and the audience match the journals and the characters up as a fun activity for those who want to partake.

Now doing the other characters....

Mystique - Death Cleric and a professional Acholic

Cas and Cassdieal - One Body, Two Souls Warlock

Digital - Creature Completion

 Greeting

Tuesday the 22nd of September 2020

Goal is to complete the creature shading today, I've ended up keeping the ears the length they were originally for the fact of the theme of the creature and the paper.

Competed the creature creations, after that wasn't too sure about background so I played around for a bit and ended up with this.

I noticed it took away from the creature so I asked Chris (our tutor) for some suggestions, so he suggested the colour going into the creature so the creature isn't completely blended into the background.

So what is shown in the drawing is that the creature is stealing the creativity.

Animation - Animatic to Premiere Pro

 Greeting Humans

Monday the 21st of September 2020

So I've completed the animatic and now to transfer it to Premiere Pro for the next part of the project.

While this is happening we'll be doing any cleaning background and any extras.

https://youtu.be/0HJic8OBZ8c

So now Ruby has suggested now to write a list of things that need to draw, ie

Backgrounds:

  • Pan view
  • Front view of Lerissa background
  • 3/4 background (front of Lerissa and back of Lerissa)
  • View from Lerissa (writing in journal)
  • Background of the fire - be a copy of the view from Lerissa
Props:
  • Journal - From Lerissa point view, front view of Lerissa
  • Quill
  • Campfire - do a repetitive flicking + glowing/ash effect
  • Campfire tent - do a repetitive flicker + glowing and ash effect
People: (frame by frame drawing of the flame effect and rigging the walking)
  • Fire Adopted Dad -  both side view
  • Fire Lerissa - redrawn her hands tied and rig the side view
Different views of Lerissa
  • Leg positioning
  • Mouth
  • Hands
  • Blinking
  • Tear animation (frame by frame drawing)

During class I just done the Pan view background, here it is:

Will probably ask Ruby if I should improve it somehow.

Got the inspiration from this artwork, which I cant find the artist who drawn it.

Film/Sculpture - Changing my Mind

 Greeting Humans

Today is Friday 28th of September

Yesterday and the night before I had a panic attack about the filming of my short film as it brought back bad emotions and memories and also I had a huge pressure to get it perfect. So yesterday I had a chat with James (our tutor) and we come to a decision that I'll be doing a different project and that might in-corrupt into the exhibition at the end of the year. As in animation and in photography/printmaking I am doing a D&D (Dungeon and Dragons) theme paper so I should do a speed creation of the player dairies that I thought of making for my team for Christmas, but it'll be a early present to the guys as I'll be making it and giving it to them and probably filming them.

So that was just verbal diarrhea there, Ill try and clarify it better. So in D&D the players have character sheets of their characters, so when we play we reference to the sheets to see if our character could do the thing we said they can do. On top of that we have spell sheets (magic sheet) for those who are magic casters. There is a lot in D&D and its hard to clarify easy through a few words. So I'll show a few sheets below, there is sometimes ever more sheets that some players have but these are the main ones.

Character sheet

Backstory sheet

Spell/caster sheet

Other than that, we as players have a tenancy to lose papers and get them dirt/over use so it'll be harder and harder to use. This way the characters can be use over and over and will be a legend for years to come.

I got this idea to do this book idea through Facebook as the product I came across was a good idea, but after I went through the process it was very expensive. Even though I love my group I'm not spending over $500 for everyone to get a book. Ill show the website that I originally got the idea of a player character journal.
